The 12th and final sign of the zodiac is Pisces, which includes dreams, compassion, altruism, spiritual sensitivity, and boundless love. We are invited to let go of the personal story and connect with all of nature. Piscean Anais Nin wrote, “I will not be just a tourist in the world of images, just watching images passing by which I cannot live in, make love to, possess as permanent sources of joy and ecstasy.” The shadow includes reckless ego-obliteration, ineffectuality, victim/martyr issues, disorganization, and the avoidance of anything difficult. Pisces inspires us to bring other dimensions into mundane reality, to raise the vibration of humanity. This is a great time to augment spiritual practice–to let go of the past, and to imagine the future.Right when the Sun gets to Pisces, it meets up with Neptune, which recently entered the Fishes too. This provides an extra burst of visionary energy, further punctuated by the New Moon conjunct Neptune on 2/21. As 2012 promises to be a revolutionary year, now is the time to set intention about what we want to see unfold. This New Moon is extra potent as Chiron and Athena are also involved, with Mercury not too far away! We have the potential to make strides in healing the planet, but the struggle is to set an informed course. Pisces can be adrift on the seas. To seize the possibilities now, we can make a concerted effort to declare exactly what we’d like to create, and hold that vision in the heart.
In early March, Mercury enters Aries then hits Uranus–this pairs the individual brain with the cosmic mind. Furthermore, Mercury will retrograde (3/12) and stay in the neighborhood of The Great Awakener for a few weeks. This is ideal for receiving intuitive insight into the visualization process mentioned earlier. Mercury in Aries wants to conceive of new ideas to get passionate about, while the retrograde asks us to review them to ensure their validity. As the retrograde moves back into Pisces, releasing old thinking patterns is also a part of the program. Then, we can make room for new innovations, even genius.
Venus enters its home sign of Taurus on 3/5, then will conjunct Jupiter on the 14th. This is a boost of confidence and security, and possibly with money or investments. The earth focus helps ground the intentions of Pisces, and give them more solidity. I have called Jupiter/Venus the cycle of abundance. At the conjunction, this is an excellent time to declare how we might expand business, become more popular, or arrive at the next plateau. The Virgo Full Moon on 3/8 also helps bring structure and realization to intention. We can illuminate and release any lingering doubt or anxiety that we are not ready for the future.
The astrology now is ripe for moving beyond ego to steer from the soul. We are recreating the world to be a reflection of Spirit, and we’re all invited to learn how to do this. We are learning to trust imagination — it’s not just impotent fleeting thoughts or visions. Focusing energy has a real impact, we are unwiring any thoughts that tell us otherwise. Ultimately, we can bring inspiration into form, and that is the gist of the current astrological curriculum.
